The Alligator

The Alligator

Ken, my son, come to visit us and wanted to stay on the Center, so he and I stayed a nice week or two and had a wonderful, wonderful visit. My son thoroughly enjoyed staying on the Center and hearing all the stories about Baba.

One day we took a boat ride. He was rowing. We were going along the lake shore, and I had my camera with me. I saw this great big alligator lying on the land on shore. We went up very close to the shore, and I was getting wonderful pictures of Ken sitting at one end of the boat and I way at the other end with my camera, taking a picture of this huge alligator to Ken’s left. He was in the boat just smiling, and I was taking several pictures, and we thought, how wonderful, as we were having a good time. At one point the alligator started to get up but lay back down again. I snapped some more pictures, and then we left.

When we got back from our boat ride and told Kitty about the wonderful pictures taken of my son sitting at the end of the boat right next to an alligator, Kitty replied, “Well, you know Baba had to work overtime so you two would be stay safe.” Oh my gosh, we looked at her in shock. She said, “You were in danger. Much danger. Alligators move fast.” I said, “Oh, I didn’t know that, I thought they were real, real slow.” She said, “That alligator could have jumped right in that boat, just like that.” My son knew just how close we were to the alligator and we could hardly believe that we were in such danger. She said, “Well, Baba had to work overtime, He had to come and save both of you. Baba had to do this.” We remembered how that alligator had started to get up and then lay down again. Didn’t take a step or anything, just started to stand up, and then went right back to the ground and just lay perfectly still, while I was still taking pictures. “Oh my God, Oh Baba, Baba. Thank you. Kitty, I’ll never do it again, we’ll never do this again, never, never.” She said, “All I wanted to let you know is that Baba had to intercede.”

I always knew, Kitty always knew what was going on at the Center, whether she was there, or whether she wasn’t there.
