Baba’s FBI Report (1958)

 Was Merwan S. Irani  Un-American?

Under the Freedom of Information Act, the FBI’s investigation of Meher Baba (aka Merwan Irani) was made available to the public, so I requested a copy some years ago. The other day a Baba-lover told me that he had asked for a copy recently and was surprised to be told that the FBI had destroyed the report in January 2011. I therefore decided it was time to post it online. The blacking out of names or other info was done by the FBI. —Kendra

Just for the record, I was the one who requested this under the freedom of information act. It was back in the mid 90’s and it took about 3 or 4 months to process the request to get it.

I bet some of the redacted names are “Kashouty” and “Winterfeldt”.. someone knowing their Baba history could probably determine who the two sisters were, one just graduated, one married, and their paranoid Mama, running off to the Feebs with tales of Communist Brainwashing..

Thanks for posting this, but only the top of page one appears. Can you upload this again? Thanks, Jai Baba! Talat

Talat, the file is designed to show 1 page at a time, and you get to the next page by scrolling down. If you’re not seeing the full page and are not able to scroll down, then please try and reset your browser view to ‘normal’ by holding the Ctrl key and hitting 0 (zero). If that doesn’t fix your view, please let me know by using the form on the Contact Us page.

Thanks and Jai Baba, Cheryl Johnson

p.s. It seems there’s an issue with Internet Explorer in general that is preventing the embedded file from being viewed. My apologies for this – we’re trying to find a fix for it but no success so far.
