The Powerhouse

The Powerhouse

In 1986 the first electricity was run on Meherabad Hill and it was going to be turned on. Mehera and the women had visited the Hill, and when they were leaving she asked me to go in the powerhouse with her. I had been told previously by someone not to go through the gate, but to go around the other way. So when Mehera’s car went through the gate to the powerhouse, she had already switched the power on by the time I walked around and got there. So I missed being there for that. I still wish I could have followed what Mehera said and not what I was told [by someone else] — that I couldn’t go through those gates. If I had, I would have been going right by her car and I would have been there to be helping out, switching the power on, right at Baba’s Tomb on the Hill. Some things we don’t know why it has to happen or not happen. I can’t say I regret it, because I know everything happens according to Baba’s wish and God’s will. It’s still kind of hard to take.
